Swoop There He Is: Golden Flyer's New Name

Published January 29, 2016

The New Golden Flyer mascot is leaner, meaner, stronger, and faster and now he has a name to match.  More than 300 entries were submitted to Nazareth’s Name the Flyer contest --and Nazareth's new mascot is Swoop!

Swoop's new name was revealed at the January 29, men's ice hockey game at the Bill Gray's Regional Iceplex in Henrietta.

The Name the Flyer contest was open to current students, faculty and staff, along with Nazareth alumni.  The winning entry was submitted by Nazareth alumna Liz Heller '12, who wins a $100 Barnes and Noble Gift Card.

The Golden Flyer went public with his new look on January 12th at the men’s basketball game against Houghton College in the Kidera Gymnasium of the Otto A. Shults Center.
