Dear Nazareth University Community,
As we reach the halfway point in the fall semester, we wanted to take this opportunity to update you on the presidential search process. We continue to receive and review applications through the end of November. The Search Committee has met to begin our review of applications and have spent significant time training and preparing for the task ahead of us. I believe I speak for the entire Committee when I say that we are excited for the future of Naz and the positive reaction we have seen in the marketplace. We are on plan and on schedule to continue our process and plan to begin our vetting and interviewing in December and into the new year. As this is a closed search, candidate names will not be shared during the interview process. The Board will then move forward with the selection of the next President in the spring.
The position profile remains posted on the Nazareth University Presidential Search website. Advertisements for the position have appeared in several publications, including the Chronicle of Higher Education, Inside Higher Education, Diverse Issues in Higher Education, and Women in Higher Education, among other places. Additionally, our search consultants, Steve Leo and Vicki Henderson from DSG Storbeck, are actively recruiting prospective candidates. Please continue sharing this opportunity with any potential candidates in your network.
Last month, we shared with the community a survey to help the committee in developing a list of interview topics/questions as we continue to vet candidates. This survey will be open through the first week of November. We invite your input and if you have not yet filled it out, please do so.
In addition, you can forward nominations for President to the search firm at NazPresident@dsgco.com.
A search for a President requires a careful balance between transparency of the process and confidentiality, including individual candidates’ names. We thank you for understanding that the best candidates require confidentiality and that the committee members have all agreed to abide by this rule.
Thank you for engaging with this pivotal process for Nazareth University’s future. We look forward to providing the next update before the end of the semester.
Sincerely,
Sergio Esteban
Chair, Nazareth University Presidential Search Committee
