Dear Nazareth University Community,
I am happy to report that the Presidential search is officially underway! I am pleased to give you an update regarding what we have done, where we are now, and what the next steps in the process look like.
After a series of extensive listening sessions on campus and virtually over the last month, during which our consultants, Steve Leo and Vicki Henderson from the national search firm of DSG Storbeck, met with groups from the administration, faculty, staff, students, alumni, the Board and community leaders and having received almost 600 responses to the survey, the search committee and the Board finalized the Position Profile, which can be found on the presidential search webpage. That is also the location where you can see the latest updates on the process.
We have initiated our recruiting efforts and have begun placing advertisements for the position in several national publications, with the aim of eliciting responses from numerous candidates across the country. Additionally, our search consultants have started the process of contacting candidates who have been nominated by others, as well as actively recruiting prospective candidates. We are eager to hear from individuals within the Naz community concerning thoughts and ideas that can benefit this search. We invite you to nominate individuals whom you believe the committee should consider for President of Nazareth University by emailing names and information to: NazPresident@dsgco.com.
The Search Committee will begin the review of applications received shortly and will continue to review applications this fall. We are on track to conduct our confidential interviews in the new year, with the goal of having a select group of candidates participate in small, discreet meetings with groups outside of the Search Committee in the first few months of 2026. The Board will then meet with the finalist candidates and move forward with the process of selecting the next President. We are committed to providing regular updates to you as we move along in the process, and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
A search for a President requires a careful balance between transparency of the process and confidentiality, including individual candidates’ names. We thank you for understanding that the best candidates require confidentiality and that the committee members have all agreed to abide by this rule.
Thank you for your support as we move forward with this important search.
Sincerely,
Sergio Esteban
Chair, Nazareth University Presidential Search Committee
