Drawing from intersectional and transnational feminist theoretical frameworks, the women and gender studies major at Nazareth College analyzes gender as an organizing factor in social, political, and familial institutions and policy. Continuing in the field's activist tradition, our program addresses gender-specific social injustices and strives to initiate social change from local and global perspectives.
“What is most valuable about women and gender studies is its interdisciplinary nature. It connects to every field, from science to writing to health care to education. It involves both the way we approach our careers and duties as well as the way we handle others and imagine ourselves."
