CARS 2016 Awards:  We are pleased to share the award recipients for CARS 2016 are as follows:

Performance: Abby Voss, Anna Kostakis, Emily Mullin, Ged Owen, Matt Combs, Michaela Groth, Peter Smith, Seth Hatch and Joe Bach for their performance ofSelected Numbers from Grease.  Faculty sponsor is Professor Corinne Aquilina.

Paper presentation: Diana Batchelor - Staying Green in a Sea of Purple: How the Emerald Isle Escaped the Roman Empire's Reach.  Faculty sponsor is Professor Tim Thibodeau.

Poster - First Place: Daryn M. Loy, Thomas K. Caraher, Faith E. Downes, MaryLynn Eddington, Daniel J. Tofil, Antoine Audet, Meghan E. Denny, Chelsea L. Diekvoss, Martin M. Glazer, Annalissa M. MacPherson, Eileen E. Pelkey and Max W. Randolph - Diverse water quality and nutrient profile in geologically variant surface water and wetlands at Mendon Ponds Park.  Faculty sponsor is Professor Padmini Das.

Poster - Second Place: Elizabeth Ver Steeg - The Family Guy? How Political Candidates Use Family in their Election Strategy.  Faculty sponsor is Professor Kim McGann.

Poster - Third Place (there was a tie): Juliana Posato - The Pleasure Deficit.  Faculty sponsor is Professor Rachel Bailey Jones.  Morgan Ross - Glyphosate Toxicity on Aquatic Invertebrates.  Faculty sponsor is Professor William Hallahan.

CARS 2016 Schedule of Activities for Participants

How to participate: 

  1. Identify a faculty sponsor and confirm their agreement to sponsor/approve your endeavor.
  2. Carefully read and follow the appropriate guidelines for your particular format of participation (can be accessed by clicking on the links below).  Consult with your faculty sponsor if no guidelines are available.
  3. Submit your proposal electronically, using the exact wording you want to appear in the CARS 2016 Program describing your work, by the March 4, 2016 deadline. Information you provide on this form will not be edited for spelling, grammar, etc. Reviewing a copy of the registration form will allow you to gather all required information prior to submitting.


CARS 2016 Awards:

There will be revised and expanded opportunities to receive awards this year. The categories will include: posters, performances or paper presentations.  All categories will be judged by faculty and staff volunteers and the respective rubrics are posted below.

Consultation with your faculty sponsor is recommended before using one of the templates below.  Feel free to use these templates as a starting point and use your best judgment in designing your poster.  Please make sure the logos have a white background.

Key Dates

  • March 4, 2016 - Deadline for submitting proposal
  • March 15, 2016 - Deadline to request poster funding
  • March 30, 2016 - Deadline for submitting poster to Media Services
  • April 8, 2016 - CARS 2016 from 1-4 p.m. in the Arts Center
