Anthony Baron received a Bachelors in Music from Westminster Choir College and a Masters in Music from the Eastman School of Music. In 2013 he received 1st Prize in the Music Teachers National Association Young Artist Competition. Recent performances include Germont in La Traviata with Opera on the Avalon directed by acclaimed Stage Director Michael Cavanaugh and Le Marquis de la Force in Dialogues of the Carmelites with Eastman Opera Theatre under the baton of Maestro Benton Hess.
This Fall Anthony will present recitals in Bloomfield Hills, MI at Cranbrook Schools and Rochester, NY. He will also be at Lynchburg College where he will present lectures and give a recital. Future engagements include a performance of Bach's Cantata "Ich habe genug" and an evening of favorite scenes from the operas of Richard Strauss.
Since 2013, Anthony has been affiliated with the Institute for Young Dramatic Voices, a highly selective program created by mezzo-soprano Dolora Zajick designed to help prepare young singers for the repertoire of Verdi, Strauss, and Puccini. Additional training and studies have included work with Katherine Ciesinski, Jacob Will, Terrry Lusk, Anthony Manoli, Ruth Ann Swenson, David Burnakus, and Nova Thomas.
Active as a pedagogue as well as performer, Anthony currently serves on the voice faculties of Nazareth College and the Eastman Community School. He also instructs as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Rochester and Eastman School of Music, where he is currently working towards a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in voice.
