"Planting Tenderness: Laudato si' and the Bethany Land Institute in Uganda"
Born in Uganda, Katongole was ordained a Catholic priest in the Diocese of Mampala and earned a doctoral degree at the Catholic University of Louvain. After teaching at universities in Uganda and South Africa, he served for more than a decade as professor of theology and world Christianity at Duke Divinity School, where he co-founded and co-directed the school's Center for Reconciliation.
