Liaung Yen: Space, Place, and Surroundings

Liaung Yen: Space, Place, and Surroundings features the work of award-winning jewelry artist, Liaung-Chung Yen. Yen was born and raised in Taiwan and his jewelry and artistic aesthetic is influenced by Chinese culture and art. He explores sculptural  form in his jewelry by using geometric shapes and architectural structures, and creates the sense of rhythm by arranging similar forms in repetition.

Yen received his M.F.A. from Savannah College of Art and Design. Previously, he had studied at the National Taiwan Academy of Art and the Taiwan Provincial Handicraft Research Institute. He has received numerous awards, including a NICHE Award in the gold with stone category, two MJSA Vision Awards, and a fellowship from New York Foundation for the Arts. Yen’s work has been displayed worldwide.
