A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Set in an enchanted forest on a summer night, a quarrel between the fairy king and queen results in a comedy of errors for a band of starry-eyed young lovers and a bumbling company of amateur actors rehearsing a play within the play. The plot thickens when Puck—a charismatic and mischievous sprite—interferes, but Shakespeare’s delightful comedy ends happily once the ensuing string of mishaps and mistaken identities have been resolved—proving once and for all that “the course of true love never did run smooth” (Lysander).
