Did you know voters in New York State can cast their vote on the November 2017 ballot for a NYS constitutional convention that would look at revising aspects of the NYS constitution? It's a choice that only comes up every 20 years.
It will be one of the main topics during the 71st New York State Political Science Association Conference on April 21-22 at Nazareth College. This annual meeting draws up to 200 participants from New York State and beyond, and features the latest scholarship in political science on a broad array of topics. The conference includes an Authors’ Roundtable and Reception on Friday, April 21, at 4:45 p.m. in the Medaille Formal Lounge in Medaille Hall.
The Keynote Roundtable on the New York State Constitutional Convention will be Saturday, April 22, at 10:30 a.m., in Room 38 of the Golisano Academic Center. This session is open to the public for a $5 fee at the door. (See below.)
On Friday, the Authors’ Roundtable and Reception will include Dr. James E. Campbell from SUNY Buffalo who will present his latest work, Polarized: Making Sense of a Divided America. Additionally, Dr. Lawrence Rothenberg from the University of Rochester will discuss his forthcoming book, The Enigma of Presidential Power: Parties, Policies, and Strategic Uses of Unilateral Action (co-authored with Fang-Yi Chiou).
