Entitled If You Can Find It, You Can Play It, the program consists of five pieces, all of which utilize found objects and/or body and/or vocal percussion:
- Living Room Music (John Cage): four movements where rhythms are played on furniture and related objects. Includes rhythmic spoken word
- Dining Room Music (Rupert Kettle, yes, that's his real name!): same concept as above but performers play mostly on plates, cups, silverware and wine glasses. Includes rhythmic spoken word
- Brooms Hilda (Chris Crockarell): A Stomp-style piece that is choreographed with all rhythms played with push brooms
- William Tells All (Michael Rhodes): The William Tell Overture played on tin cans with a student-arranged prelude for euphonium, bells, vibes and voice/piano
- Rhythm Trip (Sherrie Maricle, drummer/leader for Diva): Body percussion quartet performed by the entire 11 person ensemble
Free and open to the public, and great for families and kids!
