Tina Foster, Esq., International Women's Day Keynote Speaker

Keynote Presentation & Discussion:"Access to Justice and the War on Terror - From Iran to Irondequoit"

Tina Foster, Director of Volunteer Legal Services of Monroe County, will deliver the 2018 Women and Gender Studies Symposium keynote address, with a discussion to follow.

Ms Foster is an Iranian-American civil rights attorney, specializing in International Human Rights and Constitutional Law. Since September 11, 2001, her work has focused on defending the rights of Muslim minorities who have been unfairly targeted by U.S. national security initiatives. In 2006, she founded the International Justice Network, which provides legal assistance to survivors of human rights abuses and their families.
