What can postsecondary schools and other educational organizations do to address racial inequality? One popular answer is to provide anti-racism trainings--programs designed to help individuals understand the prevalence and consequences of racism--to personnel. Despite the popularity of the anti-racism trainings, race scholars, activists, and school officials rarely question the efficacy of this remedy for racial inequality In this talk, Cedrick-Michael Simmons addresses the reasons for that oversight and shares why the most popular types of anti-racism trainings are likely to be the least effective.
