DESCRIPTION:<p>Doing Philosophy Dangerously:  Black Lives Matter as Public Philosophy<\p>\n<p>Golisano Academic Center  Room 325<\p>\n<p>This talk uses Michel Foucault’s concepts of critique and <em>parhessia<\em> to index philosophical practices that intervene in injustice. The discussion will explore how the recently issued Black Lives Matter platform performs an ethico-political intervention generating possibilities for social change. It also analyzes some of the ways that innocence can function as an impediment to the exposure of injustice.<\p>
