DESCRIPTION:<p><em><strong>An Afternoon of Lieder <\strong><\em><\p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\\www2.naz.edu\dept\music\faculty-staff\nicholas-kilkenny\">Nicholas Kilkenny<\a>\, baritone<br \>Yuechen Xiao\, piano<\p>\n<p>A performance of two iconic song cycles: Robert Schumann’s <em>Dichterliebe<\em>\, Op. 48 and Johannes Brahms’ <em>Vier ernste Gesänge<\em>\, Op. 121. The cycles were both written with the image of Clara Schumann in mind: one focusing on the joys and pains of love\, while the other is a reflection on the pain and eventual embrace of death.<\p>
