Mentoring Program

Program Overview

Our Staff Mentoring program provides a structured process where staff members are able to focus on career growth, self-awareness, and continued learning. We offer the opportunity to connect with others, develop meaningful relationships, and demonstrate commitment to professional development.

The program is held twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall, with a four (4) month commitment for each session. The number of participants accepted in each cohort is determined by interest level and eligibility.

Definitions, Criteria, and Responsibilities

mentor is an individual with the knowledge, expertise, and resources to effectively guide the growth and development of a mentee.

To be a mentor, the staff member must:

  • Hold an associate director level position and above
  • Have been employed by the institution for at least one (1) year
  • Have the approval of their direct supervisor
  • Attend the Staff Mentoring Program kick-off meeting

 

mentee, also referred to as protégé, is an individual who seeks professional growth and who receives support and guidance from a mentor.

To be a mentee, the staff member must:

  • Demonstrate commitment to professional development
  • Have the approval of their direct supervisor
  • Attend the Staff Mentoring Program kick-off meeting

 

Process and Application Forms

There is an application for the program, which includes a series of questions to assist Human Resources in the selection and pairing process. Staff members can self-nominate to participate or be nominated by their supervisor.
