Nazareth College Ranks 16th Nationally In Washington Monthly College Ranking

Published August 25, 2014

Nazareth College is ranked 16th on a list of the Best Master’s Universities by the 2014 Washington Monthly College Rankings.

In addition, the College is ranked second place in service staff, courses, and financial aid support as well as second under community service participation and hours served.

Nazareth also made the list of Washington Monthly’s “Best Bang for the Buck” in the Master’s Universities category at 143. The list includes schools that do the best job helping students of modest means earn marketable degrees at affordable prices, thus providing the best value to students and families. This ranking is not based solely on net price; instead the list looks at the number of students receiving Pell grants, and graduation and loan default rates.

Washington Monthly’s new college rankings measure institutions based on three criteria: civic engagement, research, and social mobility. This fall, the Obama administration will release its plan to rate America’s colleges and universities. The administration’s new ratings, which are scheduled to go into effect in time for the 2015–16 school year, will include measures of access, affordability and outcome, similar metrics to those used by Washington Monthly for years.
