Nazareth College Welcomes Gabriel Marshall as HEOP Director

Published January 03, 2014

Nazareth College is pleased to welcome Gabriel Marshall as director of the Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP)/Excel.

Marshall, a graduate of Daemen College, earned a bachelor’s degree in English. He holds a master’s degree in counselor education and a certificate of advanced study in mental health from the State University of New York Brockport.

HEOP at Nazareth College is a comprehensive program that provides academic support to capable students who, due to lack of academic and financial resources, might not otherwise be able to study at Nazareth. These students are able to excel academically at Nazareth College with support from this program. The Excel program is designed to facilitate access to Nazareth for students whose academics would qualify them for HEOP, but who do not meet that program’s criteria on residency and/or income. As the director of HEOP/Excel, Marshall will provide leadership to ensure the continued success of the programs.
