Nazareth Welcomes the Executive Director of Business France to Speak about Entrepreneurship and International Investment

The Spring 2015 Maison française Lecture Series, and the Finance Club are pleased to welcome the Executive Director of Business France, Philippe Yvergniaux, who will speak on entrepreneurship at a roundtable discussion on Tuesday, April 14 from 6-7:30pm, and about US investments in France at a lecture on Wednesday, April 15 from 6-7pm. Both events will take place in the Golisano Academic Center (GAC), room 435. Please RSVP by April 12 by contacting Dr. Mireille Le Breton by phone: 650-644-8600 or email: mlebret5@naz.edu.

On Tuesday, April 14, at 6pm in GAC 435 four leaders in the field of business will share their extensive experience with aspiring entrepreneurs, business students and business owners in the Rochester area, discussing the topic: “Entrepreneurship: Strategies for Success.” The panelists will consist of Kevin Haehl, General Manager Unither Pharmaceuticals - North America, Cathy Leverone, Assistant Professor of Management at Nazareth Collegeand Board Member of the Rochester Small Business Council, Pascal Soarès, Honorary Consul of FranceBusiness Development Consultant at Côté Orphan, LLC, and Philippe Yvergniaux, Executive Director of Business France. Two students in the School of Management, Oksana Tymkiv, Naz 16’, Vice-President of the Finance Club, and Tyler Morley Naz 15’, President of the Finance Club, will be the roundtable moderators. Candace R. Black, MBA and Vice President of Alliance française de Rochester as well as Mireille Le Breton, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of French and Francophone Studies and Director of la Maison française will give welcoming remarks.

On Wednesday, April 15, at 6pm in GAC 435 Philippe Yvergniaux will give a lecture on “International Relations: US Investments in France.”  Two students in International Business, Kevin Diaz, Naz 16’ and Mourad Khaled, Naz 15’ will give welcoming remarks.

Both the panel discussion and lecture will be followed by a question answer period.  The events are free and open to the public.  Refreshments will be served.

About Philippe Yvergniaux:

Philippe Yvergniaux has 30+ years of experience in international development, from civil engineering (Haiti, Indonesia, West and East Africa, Peru-Bolivia) to attracting foreign investors (from Asia, Britain, North America...) into the great country of France. Philippe Yvergniaux was appointed President of the Invest in France Agency (IFA) in North America in September 2009, and Executive director of Business France North America when IFA merged with Ubifrance (the French trade commission in the USA) on January 1st 2015 to form Business France. In this role, he is charged with leading efforts to promote France as an ideal business destination for North American businesses looking to expand in the European market.

Mr. Yvergniaux received a degree in engineering from the renowned Ecole Polytechnique, Palaiseau, holds a Ph.D. in fluid mechanics from INP Grenoble, and is an alumnus of the IHEDATE-Paris (Higher Institute for Territorial Planning and Regional Development in Europe). He is Ingénieur Général of the Corps de Ponts, des Eaux et des Forêts (French Corps of civil engineers). He is married with 4 children.
