Annual Thanksgiving Basket and Food Drive at Nazareth College

Published November 17, 2015

The Center for Spirituality is partnering with the Dimitri House for their annual Thanksgiving Basket sponsorship program. The program aims to serve people in need and and provide resources for families facing food insecurity during the holiday season. The baskets contain ingredients for a full Thanksgiving dinner and hope to serve a family ranging from 2-5 people. Campus groups, academic departments, support services, and students come together each year to sponsor a basket for this cause.

The Campus Safety Department, is also running its popular “Food for Fines” program in conjunction with the Center for Spirituality food drive. Campus Safety is accepting donations for canned goods or non-perishable food items in exchange for parking tickets. The items donated will be added to the Thanksgiving Baskets collected for the Dimitri House.

Students are sorting the food in baskets on Tuesday, November 17 and will deliver baskets to the Dimitri House on November 18.
