Nazareth Appoints Three New Trustees

Nazareth College has named three new members to its Board of Trustees.  The board elected Colleen Arnold, Hiry West, and Jett Mehta.

Colleen Arnold served in leadership positions at IBM for 35 years prior to her retirement. Most recently, she served as senior vice president and head of IBM Sales and Distribution. Arnold is a board member for Syracuse University Whitman School of Management and on the Board of Directors for Cardinal Health. She received her bachelor’s degree from Nazareth and her MBA from the Whitman School at Syracuse University. She was Whitman Alumna of the Year in 2012. She was Nazareth Alumna of the Year in 2016, and the Nazareth Commencement speaker in May 2017, where she was awarded an honorary doctorate degree.

Hiry West is a small business consultant and angel investor. West’s current investment, Medicare & Medicaid Advisory Group, is a New York City community advocate group that helps patients and their caregivers navigate the complex process of becoming eligible for Medicare and Medicaid benefits. West is a current board member for Gladney Center for Adoption, a not-for-profit, licensed adoption agency. He is also on the Board of Governors for Shine Global a non-profit media company that produces inspiring films and compelling content about at-risk children. He is married to Mary Beth West, a Nazareth alumna who served as the Nazareth commencement speaker in 2009. In March 2017, the Wests generously pledged a gift to Nazareth College to establish an endowment for the Young Scholars Program.  West holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Rochester.

Jett Mehta is the President and principal owner of Indus Hospitality Group (IHG). IHG owns and operates more than 50 properties, primarily hotels and restaurants, in the Rochester, Finger Lakes, and Western New York regions. Mehta currently serves as a board member of the Boys & Girls Club of Rochester, Wilmot Cancer Institute, Highland Hospital Foundation, NYS Troopers PBA, Dunkin’ Brands Advisory Council, Wyndham Hotel Group Advisory Council, Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce and M&T Bank Director Advisory Council – Rochester. Mehta holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Clarkson University.
