Published April 19, 2018

The Greater Rochester Teen Book Festival is officially a teenager this year! Nazareth College will welcome hundreds of teens from all over the Rochester area and beyond to the 13th Annual Teen Book Fest (TBF) on Saturday, May 19, from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. in the Shults Center on the Nazareth campus. The Greater Rochester Teen Book Festival was established in 2006 by public and school librarians and has grown into a community sponsored event dedicated to the celebration of young adults and to give them the chance to interact with award-winning authors. This event is free and open to the public. Nazareth College is located at 4245 East Avenue, Rochester, N.Y., 14618. Visit www.teenbookfest.org for a complete schedule and to read more about the authors attending. Contact ROCTBF@gmail.com with questions.

Attendees will have the chance to meet their favorite authors, attend presentations throughout the day, receive autographs, meet fellow teen-readers and writers, as well as purchase sought-out items, such as books written by the authors and an original teen-designed TBF t-shirt. Teens will receive priority in all sessions not specified as being for adults.

TBF 2018 features more than 25 authors including New York Times and USA Today bestsellers, local teen authors, and an audiobook narrator and kicks off with a panel including all authors and then continues with special breakout sessions designed to promote interaction with readers and writers. Teens will also have the chance to attend an autographing session at the conclusion of the festival.

Featured authors this year include Bill Konigsberg, Bruce Coville, Ellen Hopkins, Margaret P. Haddix, Tamora Pierce, Robin Benway, Charles Benoit and many others. A selection of books for all the festival authors are available at local public or school libraries and for purchase by Barnes & Noble on-site. Special Festival t-shirts and other merchandise will be available for purchase during the event, as will lunch, snacks, and beverages by many local Rochester vendors- including several food truck favorites.

The mission of the Greater Rochester Teen Book Festival is to foster a community effort to celebrate and promote reading by connecting teens and authors.
