MLK Day Commemoration, January 17

Published January 05, 2022

Nazareth is holding its annual MLK Day commemoration on Monday, January 17 — the entire event will take place via Zoom. This year's theme, Reconciling the Dream: Transforming Communities Through Restorative Justice, centers around community-building. Keynote speakers Elaine Spaull and Nolica Murray-Fields from The Center for Youth will share a case study of how their innovative Bridge to Peace program has successfully integrated restorative practices.

This year due to COVID considerations there is no county-wide King for a Day community service event that usually takes place in January following MLK Day. Sustaining the College's efforts to advance civil rights and social justice, this January Nazareth will work with student groups wanting to plan service and social justice projects. These projects will take place in February in the weeks surrounding the World Day of Social Justice, February 20.
