Nazareth's four Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) programs are tailored to graduate student backgrounds and needs. The associated New York state Education Department teacher certification is ESOL: English to Speakers of Other Languages.
This 43-credit program is for students with no prior teacher certification who seek a master’s degree in TESOL and initial New York state teacher certification in ESOL to teach in public schools.

This 36-credit program is for students who already have New York state teacher certification (any type) and seek a master’s degree in TESOL and additional teacher certification in ESOL. This program fulfills master’s degree requirements for professional teaching certification.
