  • Both native English speakers and international students are encouraged to apply for this 10-course master’s degree program.
  • Learn to teach English language learners in other countries and to teach in the United States in private schools, adult programs, and universities.
  • This master’s program equips you to be a qualified, confident teacher of English as a second language (ESL) and English as a foreign language (EFL) through both coursework and a supervised internship.
  • Learn to understand and incorporate linguistics, language acquisition theories, grammar pedagogy, cultural implications, technology, instructional strategies, and curriculum design into English language teaching (ELT).

  • English language teaching opportunities exist around the globe, including teaching in pre-university programs, community colleges, 4-year colleges/universities, and workplace settings.

What to Expect
  • Small classes provide individual attention.
  • All classes are in the evening except one hybrid class (Summer A) that's part in class and part online, and an internship at Nazareth's English Language Institute
  • Elective classes provide the option to interact with students from a variety of majors.
  • Complete the master's degree in 1 year full-time, or choose part-time study.
  • Observe local language teachers, refine your teaching and presentation techniques, and employ your skills in a supervised internship.
