More than 220 Nazareth students traveled internationally during 2012, studying in or visiting 24 countries around the world, including Australia, Costa Rica, Hungary, Israel, Ireland, Japan, and South Korea, among other places. “Presently, Nazareth has the second largest study abroad program in the Rochester area,” says George Eisen, Ph.D., executive director of Nazareth’s Center for International Education (CIE) and associate vice president for academic affairs. “The CIE plays a primary role in linking the College with a wider global community.”
In the 2012 International Photo Contest, sponsored by the CIE, Nazareth students entered more than 50 images in three categories—Human Interest, Foreign Landscape, and Cultural Experience. Each first place winner received a prize, and winning photos appear in the gallery below.
Students were invited to show us the exotic places they’ve been, the extraordinary people they’ve seen, and the culturally significant moments they’ve experienced. Take a look at the photos they submitted and experience the world through their eyes.
