Brad Ford ’14, junior forward on the Nazareth College men’s basketball team, was selected to the Capital One Academic All-America Team in February by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Ford, of Victor, N.Y. and a graduate of Victor High School, was a second-team selection and one of 15 players honored in Division III. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or better.
Nazareth completed its 2012-13 sea- son with a 15-10 overall record. Ford finished as the Golden Flyers’ leading rebounder at 10 per game and the second leading scorer at 16.2 points per game. He also led the team in three-point baskets (46) and steals (27) and posted 12 double-doubles (points- rebounds). With 24 points in Nazareth’s season finale at Ithaca, Ford became the 20th Nazareth player to surpass 1,000 points in career scoring. He’ll enter the 2013-14 season with 1,011 points.
In the classroom, Ford holds a grade point average of 3.80 as a business administration major. He is a member of the Empire 8 Conference President’s List and last season was chosen as a second-team E8 all-star.
