Scott Dawson ’16 and Joe Gladnick ’16, freshmen on the Nazareth hockey team, were named to the ECAC West All-Rookie team for the 2012-13 season. The rookie team, as well as the ECAC West all-star teams, were selected through voting by the league’s head coaches.
Dawson, of Ottawa, Ont., was selected as a defenseman after finishing as the Golden Flyers’ top- scoring blue-liner with 17 points on nine goals and eight assists. He was named ECAC West Rookie of the Week in November after being named MVP of the Skidmore Invitational as Nazareth claimed the team title.
Gladnick, of Warminster, Pa., was selected as a goaltender after appearing in 11 games for the Golden Flyers in 2012-13 and amassing 315 saves. He also had a save percentage of .900 and a goals- against average of 3.62.
Nazareth completed its first intercollegiate hockey season with a 4-1 loss at Neumann last February, finishing 6-19-1 overall.
