Jake Lafaver Named E8 Track Athlete of the Year
Jake Lafaver ’14, who enjoyed a record-breaking season for Nazareth’s indoor track and field team, was named Empire 8 Track Athlete of the Year.
Lafaver, of Syracuse, N.Y. and a graduate of West Genesee High School, won the Empire 8 title in the 400-meter dash with a time of :51.56 last January. He then went on to win the 800-meter title at the NYSCTC Championships at Ithaca with a facility-record time of 1:55.72. A week after that, he lowered his time even more (1:53.24) with a third-place finish in the 800 at the ECAC Championships in New York City.
