Lindsey Kelly ’16, the Golden Flyers’ leading scorer and rebounder in women’s basketball in 2012-13, was named East Region Rookie of the Year by d3hoops.com.
Kelly, a six-foot center from Doylestown, Pa. and a graduate of Central Bucks East High School, was a force for the Golden Flyers in 2012-13. She led the team in scoring (16 ppg.) and rebounding (8.4 rpg.). She also broke a 35-year-old school record for single-season field goal accuracy as she connected on 58.3 percent of her shots (161-for- 276). She ranked third nationally in Division III in that category.
Kelly also recorded six double-doubles (points-rebounds) and was named Empire 8 Rookie of the Week four times. Nazareth finished 10-15 overall.
Kelly also was a second-team Empire 8 Conference all-star, while guard Erica Shaw ’13 was an honorable mention selection. Shaw, of Livonia, N.Y., contributed 8.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game while connecting on a team-best 42 three-point baskets. She reached double figures in scoring 11 times.
