FAQ: Athletics

We are working every day to make the best decisions for our students, guided by research, New York state guidelines, and our athletics conference. We will continue to monitor and adapt our plans accordingly.

Limited spectators allowed

Beginning Friday, April 2, New York state is allowing limited numbers of spectators for college sports. For home sports competitions taking place at Nazareth, starting April 2, a total of 100 spectators or 50% capacity indoors (whichever is less), and 200 spectators or 50% capacity outdoors are permitted.

Those totals can include:

  • Up to two parents/guardians/relatives of a Nazareth student-athlete, invited by the student-athlete.
    • The student-athlete can register up to two (family) guests through the team’s guest list.
    • All campus guests must follow Nazareth’s visitor policy, meaning:
      • Online screening: On the day of the competition, you'll get an email with a link to fill out a visitor COVID-19 screening online, prior to arrival on campus.
      • If your screening clears you to come to campus, you'll immediately see a personal green badge QR code on your screen, which stays available all day.
      • Kiosk: Show your QR code at any kiosk on campus (list). (Printable map.)
  • Nazareth students with a ticket. Two ways for Nazareth students to seek a spectator ticket:
    • By noon each Monday, student tickets for the week's games will be available at the Golisano Training Center (GTC) front desk.
    • Or one hour before game time, any remaining tickets will be available at the competition venue.
    • Students, show your NazCard ID and green COVID screening badge to receive a ticket. All tickets are first-come, first-served. Students without tickets are not permitted at home competitions, per the College's COVID-19 spectator policy.
  • Faculty/staff: If tickets remain at the venue at the start of the competition, they will be available to faculty/staff at the entrance, upon showing NazCard ID and green COVID screening badge.

Admittance is granted first-come, first-served through the invitation/registration and ticketing processes; no further spectators are allowed when the limit of 50% capacity or 100 people indoors, or 200 outdoors, is reached.

At this time, the State regulations only allow home team guests. Visitors associated with a visiting team are not yet allowed.

Tailgating is not permitted on campus.

Spectators must follow strict health protocols including social distancing, face coverings, and health screening.
