Course Instructor:

Megan Montgomery, LMSW, TCTSY-F is the International Adoption Coordinator for Adoption STAR, provides Consultancy services in her private practice and is a Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator certified through The Center for Trauma and Embodiment at JRI in Brookline, MA. Course Description:

Adoption is not a one time event, rather it is a lifelong process that impacts more than the individual who is adopted.  Working with adopted people and their extended biological and adoptive families requires training and awareness of attitudes, perspectives, beliefs, and values that shape everything social workers do. This workshop will introduce you to the impact of adoption on various members of adoption relationships and provide concrete reasons why using a trauma informed approach is necessary.
