“The Russian National Ballet Theatre, directed by Elena Radchenko, is a cut above many of its rivals.” –Washington Post
The Russian National Ballet Theatre was founded in Moscow in the late 1980s—during Perestroika—when many of the Soviet Union’s great dancers and choreographers used their new-found creative freedom to launch vibrant companies, and invigorate classical Russian ballet by incorporating outside influences. The company now boasts more than 50 dancers dedicated to upholding the grand traditions of staging major works and developing new talent.
Always popular, the Russian National Ballet last appeared at the Arts Center in 2012. This visit will feature two perennial favorites: Romeo & Juliet and Carmen.
Single tickets: $50–$65 (eligible for Arts Center 15% and 20% subscriber discounts)
