Sophia Garber - Cancer Changes Lives: So Can You!

March 1, 2018 12:10 – 1 p.m.

As part of Center for Civic Engagement's Week of Service Inspiration and Action Speaker series, Sophia Garber, a Rochester native, recent SUNY Geneseo graduate, and AmeriCorps member, will speak about her cross country bicycle ride to raise awareness for young adults with cancer through the Ulman Cancer Foundation.

In her journey, Ms. Garber traversed 4000 miles from Baltimore, MD to San Fransisco Bay, CA in her service efforts to benefit those in need. Learn more about her story at the event, and how one can make a difference through service in unique and interesting ways.

Ms. Garber will also be participating in a group bike ride from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM that is open to the Nazareth community. Come bring your own bike or borrow one for free from Bikes@Naz and join us as we ride alongside Ms. Garber on and around campus!

This event is a collaboration with The Center for Civic Engagement in collaboration with the Center for Life's Work

We hope to see you there!
