Stand-up Storytellers James Judd & Jen Kober

November 3, 2018 8 – 9:30 p.m.

As heard on NPR’s Snap Judgment, award-winning comedians and storytellers James Judd & Jen Kober will have you in stitches with unique stories of everyday life in this comedy double-bill.

About James Judd
Comedian, author, and radio personality James Judd is a former member of L.A.’s legendary improv troupe The Groundlings. Projects include a critically acclaimed solo show and TV appearances on Star Search and Evening at the Improv. He is the winner of the 2015 Winner of NPR's Snap Judgment Comedic Performance of the Year Award.

Often compared to David Sedaris and Oscar Wilde, Judd connects with audiences as he shares stories classified as "spectacular public embarrassments and utter failures." However humiliating, they affirm that part of being human is telling the stories that have happened to us, emphasizing that even in the face of failure, it's getting up and moving forward that matters.

"Like David Sedaris on a pot of coffee." - Democrat and Chronicle

About Jen Kober
Jen Kober is originally from Lake Charles, Louisiana, and has energetically bounded onto the national stage bringing crowds to their feet with her original blend of stand-up, storytelling, and improvised rock-n-roll comedy. Kober's powerful performances weave together a southern-style tale of love lost at the buffet, road trip adventures at The Waffle House and midnight mishaps at Wal-Mart.

Kober was the 2016 Winner of NPR's Snap Judgment Comedic Performance of the Year Award for her Girl Scout Cookie story, which went viral upon its release earlier that year. She can be seen on TV in The Mindy Project, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Middle, and The Real Husbands of Hollywood with Kevin Hart. Movies include Grudge Match, Paranoia, and American Pie: Reunion.

"Kober has got to be our 21st Century Lucille Ball, and that’s no exaggeration.” - Leslie Berman,  LA TIMES
