Contemporary Commercial Music

The contemporary commercial music minor gives you the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed as multi-faceted musicians and professionals in the diverse field of contemporary commercial music — including blues, rock, pop, folk, bluegrass, country, gospel, world, hip-hop, rap, R&B, jazz, and electronic music.

This 18-credit minor includes music theory, music history, music composition, and music recording classes.

By your senior year, you'll build a portfolio that includes composing, performing, recording, and producing a contemporary commercial music EP of 4-6 songs. The songs will include both originals and covers of contemporary music pieces.
