Camp RAYS

Camp RAYS — Rochester’s Adventure for Youth who Stutter — is a small summer camp for children who stutter at Nazareth University, in Rochester, NY.

Stuttering, a communication difference marked by disfluencies, affects about 1% of the population and 5% of children. Additionally, children who stutter are often at risk for low social engagement, isolation, bullying, teasing, and other negative reactions. This is where Camp RAYS comes in! The goal of Camp RAYS is to provide a space for children who stutter to come together, form community, and support each other with the challenges of coping with stuttering. Camp RAYS promotes communicative confidence, stuttering acceptance, empowerment, resiliency, and self-expression through fun activities and events.
