Internships and Careers

Internships: Students have done three-credit, 120-hour internships with the American Red Cross, Conde Nast New York City, Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield, National Public Radio, Rochester City Ballet, Rochester Knighthawks, Seneca Park Zoo, Toshiba Business Solutions, Memorial Art Gallery, and more.

Internships typically take place junior year or during the summer. Non-credit opportunities are also available.

Careers: Our graduates are employed by many renowned organizations, including SNY-TV Home of the Mets, Butler Till Media, Paychex, Smart Pop Books, Gatehouse Media, Yellow Page City, and a variety of school districts. Some common career pathways, and how to make the most of a Nazareth education:

Editing, Writing, and Publishing
Event Planning
Graphic Design or Visual Communication Design
Public Relations
Social Media
Technical Writing

According to the U. S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, job growth will be strong for all of these fields (with the exception of journalism). Advertising, Graphic Design, Law, and Technical Writing jobs are expected to grow between 10-17% by 2020, keeping pace with national job growth trends. Event Planning and Public Relations are expected to grow 44% and 21%, respectively, exceeding national job growth trends.
