Ailey II

For more than 40 years, Ailey II has merged the spirit and energy of the country’s best young dance talent with the passion and creative vision of outstanding choreographers.

Started in 1974 as the Alvin Ailey Repertory Ensemble, Ailey II embodies Ailey’s pioneering mission to establish an extended cultural community that provides dance performances, training, and community programs to all. The critically acclaimed company has a diverse and distinctive repertory that includes innovative works by dance masters and rising choreographers alike.

Ailey II performed to rave reviews during the Arts Center’s 2001-2002 season, and audiences can expect another evening of exhilarating works.
