February 15, 2018 12:10 – 1 p.m.

Want to get paid to have a prestigious, educational experience overseas after graduation? Have a strong record of academic achievement? You are invited to apply for a U.S. Student Fulbright award. Come to this information session to learn more.

Info session location: GAC 325

What's a Fulbright: These prestigious awards sponsored by the U.S. Department of State fund one year of research or teaching in a foreign country after college. You may apply for one of over 190 countries around the world. Fulbright recipients receive a monetary stipend, and travel and living expenses. The two types of grants:

  • Research Grant: Take on a specific project in your own field of study and work in conjunction with a university in the country to which you apply.
  • English Teaching awards: Some of these awards require knowledge of the local language, but there are many for which knowledge of the language is not required.

Who's eligible: The timing to learn more is ideal for juniors, for seniors who graduate in December 2018, and for graduate students. U.S. military veterans are especially encouraged to attend.

Timeline: You apply in October of the academic year of your graduation. If you are a junior, senior (graduating in December 2018), or graduate student, your application process should be underway by April 2018 for submission in October 2018. This means you should act now and come to the information meeting on February 15.
