Rochester Reads Author Omar El Akkad Visit

Hear author Omar El Akkad read from his debut novel _American War_, and join us after for refreshments and a book-signing. El Akkad's novel follows a family as they negotiate lives plagued by rising sea levels, fuel shortages, and civil war. Acclaimed for its powerful and prescient dystopian imagining of a future United States, American War has topped "Best of 2018" book lists across the country.

This on-campus event is part of the larger program for Rochester Reads 2019. Each year, Rochester Reads brings thousands of readers together across Rochester through common reads, book groups, writing circles, and other special events. We invite you to take part in this year's program by attending this campus reading. Copies of American War are available at Writers and Books on University Ave. and will be available at the event.
