Irreverent, uproarious, and adamantly bipartisan, The Capitol Steps are back for Rochester’s favorite New Year’s Eve tradition of political satire. The award-winning troupe that began as a group of U.S. Senate staffers has been featured numerous times on primetime TV, as well as four times a year on its popular NPR specials.
Now in its 38th year, The Capitol Steps has recorded an album of laugh-out-loud song skits a year, and 2019 promises to be no exception. The Capitol Steps will present a new show based on their new album The Lyin' Kings, featuring new parody songs like I Did Nothing in Ukraine, The Sound of Sanders, Can you Feel the Rub Tonight, and It's My Party (and I'll Lie if I Want To)! Quite simply, The Capitol Steps puts the “mock” in democracy.
