The Sonata Drama
Jacob Ertl, piano
Piano sonatas can highlight the dramatic and narrative nature of the form: the tragic, the expressive, and the epic. Schubert's Sonata in A minor, D.784, Chopin's Barcarolle, Barber's Sonata in E-flat minor, Op. 26, and Bolcom's Ghost Rags.
