International Student Admissions Process

For Undergraduate and Transfer International Students (proficient in English):

1. Apply

  • First-year students (no university courses completed): Complete the free Common Application online at www.commonapp.org in English. This includes submitting a sample of your writing (up to two pages in length; may be a graded academic paper).
  • Transfer students (currently studying at another university): Complete our transfer application instead:

2. Transcript/academic records:

Request an international credential evaluation from SpanTran (recommended service) or any evaluation service verified by NACES (required). Minimum grade point average (GPA): 2.75.

Important: When applying for your credential evaluation, you must request that the evaluation be sent directly from the credential evaluator to Nazareth University. The evaluation service will also require that your school or university send the documents directly to the evaluator and will not accept official or unofficial documents sent by you (the student).

  • Undergraduate first-year applicants: Request document-by-document evaluation with GPA
  • Undergraduate transfer or graduate applicants: Request course-by-course evaluation

Requesting an official credential evaluation is done at the expense of the applicant.

3. Provide your English language test scores: Provide an official copy of your TOEFL/IELTS exam results.

Minimum scores required:

4. Optional: Official SAT or ACT exam results. (Required only for 3+3 law degree.)

5. Recommendations: 1–3 letters of recommendation from teachers or advisors (in English).

6. Finances form: After the Admission Committee makes a decision, accepted students must complete the Nazareth Declaration of Finances form and provide bank statements showing the amount available to cover your educational expenses. This form is needed to issue an I-20 (required to obtain your student visa).
