Nazareth College Hosts Rochester Teen Book Festival, May 16

Nazareth College is proud to present this year’s Greater Rochester Teen Book Festival (TBF) now in it’s tenth year. The event brings over 2,500 teens and adults, with all kinds of literary tastes, together to meet their favorite authors, as well as new ones. TBF this year is Saturday, May 16, from 8:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Nazareth College, located at 4245 East Avenue, Rochester, N.Y. 14618. This event is free and open to the public and kicks off with a parade led by members of the East Ridge High School Lancers Marching Band and met by the teens in a red carpet reception.

Microsoft's Gail Evans Set to Speak at Nazareth's Commencement, May 10

Nazareth College will celebrate its 88th annual Commencement at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester on Sunday, May 10, with an address from Gail Evans of Microsoft. Evans, a Nazareth alumna, will deliver the address to the Class of 2015 in a joint ceremony with both undergraduate and graduate students receiving their degrees.

The Spring 2015 Maison française Lecture Series, and the Finance Club are pleased to welcome the Executive Director of Business France, Philippe Yvergniaux, who will speak on entrepreneurship at aroundtable discussion on Tuesday, April 14 from 6-7:30pm, and about US investments in France at a lecture on Wednesday, April 15 from 6-7pm. Both events will take place in the Golisano Academic Building, room 435.

Nazareth has named Dianne Oliver as its new dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. Oliver is currently a professor and associate dean at the University of Evansville in Indiana.  Oliver begins as dean at Nazareth on July 27.

Nazareth College’s Hickey Center for Interfaith Studies and Dialogue is pleased to present the Fifth Annual Global Citizenship Conference.This event is a full-day conference for high school students to provide tools to respond to intolerance, improve religious literacy, and possess the etiquette required to work in a pluralistic world. Karen Magnuson, editor and vice president of the Democrat and Chronicle, will be the guest speaker. She speaks from 1:00 - 1:30 p.m. in the Otto A. Shults Community Center gym. Well-Known Folk and Gospel Duo Kim and Reggie Harris Perform at Nazareth College, Jan. 28

Nazareth College’s Institute for Pluralism and Center for Spirituality are pleased to welcome Kim and Reggie Harris for a folk and gospel performance on campus. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa., the Harris’ hope to bring their African-American roots to Nazareth and sing of life, love, the quest for freedom, environment, and community.  The performance will take place on Wednesday, January 28 at 7 p.m. in the Linehan Chapel of the Golisano Academic Center.
