Surgeon Named New Board of Trustees Member at Nazareth College

Coral Surgeon, M.D., is a new member of the board of trustees at Nazareth College. Surgeon, a clinical associate professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/Gyn) at the University of Rochester School of Medicine, is a recipient of the Highland Hospital Resident Teaching Award and the Association of Professors Excellence in Teaching Award.

Dr. Surgeon, of Pittsford, holds a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and a doctor of medicine degree from the University of Buffalo SUNY School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. She completed her residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Currently, Surgeon is a fellow in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and has her own practice at Women & Gynecology Associates in Rochester, N.Y.

She also sits on the board of Links Rochester, Garth Fagan Dance, and Highland Hospital, and she isa member of the Monroe County Medical Society. Formerly, she served as a board member of Planned Parenthood for the Rochester/Syracuse region and was the director of AIDS Rochester.
