Bailey Appointed New Board of Trustees Member

Nazareth College is pleased to announce Sister Sharon Bailey, S.S.J, is one of the newest members on the College’s board of trustees. Sr. Bailey, a founder of the St. Joseph’s Neighborhood Center, was recently named the congregational president elect for the Sisters of St. Joseph in July 2015. Her current career path has led her to the field of massage and polarity therapy, tending to clients at the SSJ Motherhouse and St. Joseph’s Neighborhood Center. Sr. Bailey also serves as a congregational formation director, guiding young women in the beginning stages of their religious life.

Sr. Bailey earned her nursing certificate from St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing, her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Rochester, and her master’s degree in nursing from Boston University. Her ministry work has also led to further leadership opportunities in the Rochester, N.Y. area, such as as founder and nurse practitioner of the Corpus Christi Health Center (1981-1991) and First Councilor on the Sisters of Saint Joseph (SSJ) Leadership Team (1991-1999).
