Nazareth College Student Receives Phi Kappa Phi Grant for Study Abroad

Published April 16, 2018

Nazareth College sophomore Katherine Saslawsky is one of just 75 students nationwide to earn a Study Abroad Grant presented by the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. The $1,000 award will allow Saslawsky, a Music Performance/Music Therapy double major, to travel to Salzburg and Vienna, Austria and Venice, Italy to study some of the world's most legendary composers - from Beethoven and Brahms to Mahler and Mozart in the cities in which they lived and created. In Vienna, Saslawsky will present her research on Gustav Mahler to her fellow students.

Saslawsky, a Long Island native and Rochester resident, was selected from a national applicant pool and is the second Nazareth College student to receive the Study Abroad grant. She is a flutist in Nazareth’s Wind Symphony and Symphonic Orchestra and is a member of the American Music Therapy Association for Students.
