A Life Changing Volunteer Experience with Empower Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)
“I had the amazing opportunity to spend a week volunteering at Empower Spinal Cord Injury (SCI),” says Physical Therapy Professor J.J. Mowder-Tinney. Empower Spinal Cord Injury is a charitable organization that works with individuals with spinal cord disabilities to help them reach their highest potential for an independent life. During the Summer of 2018, Mowder-Tinney, and current physical therapy student Sarah Conroy each had a life changing experience working with Empower in Long Island, N.Y.

Nazareth College takes great pride in creating a supportive and inclusive campus. The College is celebrating National Latinx Heritage Month (observed annually September 15 to October 15) honoring the histories, cultures, and contributions of people of Latin American and Spanish descent. During this time, we also commemorate Latin American countries who received their independence. Latinx is gender neutral, which means it's an identifier that moves beyond gender binaries.
