Wind Symphony selected to perform at Eastern Division College Band Directors National Association conference in February 2022

Published October 21, 2021

Based on strong performances over the past two years, Nazareth College’s Wind Symphony has accepted another prestigious invitation to perform at the College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) Eastern Division Conference in Baltimore.

This February 2022 conference will be the ensemble’s second as performers. The students also performed at the conference in 2018. The musicians and Wind Symphony Director Jared Chase will travel to Maryland for their February 19 performance at the conference, and along the way will stop at multiple high schools to perform.

Chase said the selection process is intensive. He had to submit recordings from their past two years of performances, and a committee chose the group using a blind evaluation.

“This is an incredible honor to get to represent the Nazareth College School of Music at the CBDNA conference,” said Chase. “Getting to go again the first year we are eligible is a true testament to the quality of band program we have here. It wouldn't have been possible without our excellent students, faculty, and of course the support of the administration."
